Green House Homes.

Green House Homes represent the gold standard for person-directed living. At AgingIN™, we continue to steward and expand through this groundbreaking model.

The first Green House homes opened in 2003 in Tupelo, Miss., with the network growing significantly over the following years, thanks to initial support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

When the pandemic descended upon nursing homes in 2020, elders and care professionals in Green House homes fared significantly better than their counterparts in traditional buildings. Research has since demonstrated that Green House homes are highly effective in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 and other viruses on elders.

The Green House Project has helped organizations build nearly 400 homes across 35 U.S. states and Australia and Canada. The model has redefined what it means to grow older with dignity. AgingIN continues to develop and refine new ways of delivering aging services, with a focus on dignity, autonomy, and choice.
