Research Partnerships & Collaborations

Because real change deserves real proof.

At AgingINSM, we don’t just believe in better care—we work to prove it. That’s why research is embedded in everything we do. From measuring the impact of person-directed living to collaborating on cutting-edge brain health studies, we partner with academic institutions and researchers worldwide to generate empirical evidence that elevates care environments across the aging services spectrum.

We believe research should do more than live in journals. It should live in dining rooms, care team huddles, memory care wings, and leadership meetings—shaping how decisions are made and how people are treated.

We Support Two Kinds of Research:

  1. External Research Enablement
We help academic researchers and institutions connect with long-term care communities that are open to supporting studies on aging, dementia, workforce culture, and more.
From coordinating introductions to facilitating site participation, we provide a respectful, efficient pathway for researchers to engage with communities in the field.
  2. Collaborative Research on Our Own Work
We actively invite scholars to study the impact of our models and methods—from the Best Life memory care model to our work in skilled nursing transformation and team empowerment.
Trusted Partners

Trusted Partners. Transparent Results.

We are proud to collaborate with respected academic leaders in aging and neuroscience, including:

  • Liza Behrens, PhD, RN, of Penn State—whose research explores how people with dementia express preferences and participate in decision-making when given time, space, and dignity
  • Kelly Tremblay, PhD—internationally recognized for her work at the intersection of aging, brain health, and communication science

Together, we’re moving the conversation beyond anecdote and toward measurable, repeatable outcomes.

Why It Matters.

Many care models promise better quality of life. AgingIN is committed to proving it—by collecting, analyzing, and sharing data on:

  • Resident autonomy and satisfaction.
  • Team member retention and morale.
  • Infection rates and health outcomes.
  • Environmental impacts on behavior and well-being.
  • ROI of culture change in skilled nursing and memory care.

We’re building a living body of knowledge that benefits providers, researchers, and—most importantly—the people we serve.

Let’s Advance the Field, Together.

Because it’s not just about believing care can be better. It’s about showing how—and proving it.

If you’re a university researcher, a provider open to participation, or a funder looking to support data-driven transformation in aging services, let’s connect.
